This section of the Handbook comprises information about the languages (as opposed to the scripts) in use in the Indian subcontinent.
The languages of the Indian subcontinent can be classified into four families based on their linguistic characteristics: A, B, C, D.

Section 18.2 lists the kind of information that we are trying to collect for each language.
